As you hear the Easter story
With its promise ever new,
May its meaning and its glory
Bring peace and joy to you;
And may our Risen Savior
In the fullness of His love
Fill your heart with happiness
And blessings from above.
Death, be not proud
though some have called thee
mighty and dreadful,
for thou art not so.
For those whom thou thinkest
thou dost overthrow
die not, poor death,
nor yet canst thou kill me . . .
One short sleep past
we wake eternally
and death shall be no more.
Death, thou shalt die.
(John Donne)
